Cass's Café is a warm, community-led space — and like any community, safety matters. Whether you're meeting for coffee, organising a volunteer visit, or connecting with someone who understands your journey, please follow these important guidelines.
Always meet in a public place — a café, library, or shopping centre. Never invite a stranger to your home for a first meeting.
Tell a trusted friend or family member where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to be home.
Arrange your own transport. Do not accept rides from someone you have just met online.
Keep your phone charged and with you. Have emergency contacts ready.
Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation.
Start with a video or phone call before meeting in person — it helps build trust safely.
Never share your home address, financial details, or identifying personal information, and do not post health details about yourself or anyone you care for.
